New Build Arts and Media Centre
SECTOR: Education BUDGET: £2.8m LOCATION:Wolverhampton
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 1,200m2 stand-alone secondary and further education Arts and Media Centre. The works were carried out within the heart of the existing school campus. The building itself comprises of a steel frame with SFS infill, pre-cast concrete floors and staircases, composite panel roofing, insulated render, brickwork, aluminium curtain walling, windows and doors, extensive Mechanical and Electrical installations and bespoke ICT/FF&E fit out.
Savesta Construction was appointed as main contractor following a re-tender process after the existing contractor went into liquidation. Our expertise in the education sector allowed us to successfully guide the client through the complexity of a PFI land carve out whilst also enabling a rapid mobilisation on to site.
The project was completed on time and on budget to a delighted client!
“It was a breath of fresh air working with Savesta Construction on the Heath Park Academy project. We were involved from the early stages and the change in main contractor could have been wrought with issues. It was refreshing to engage with a contractor that understood and was mindful of our needs as a sub-contractor, allowing us to keep to schedule and deliver our service without a hitch.”
Glyn Evans, Director, Construction Profiles Limited
“On behalf of our Heath Park community I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Savesta team for turning the fantastic design into a reality.
We are overwhelmed with the finished building and cannot underestimate the impact this will have on the life chances of generations of young people and families.”
Georgetta Holloway OBE, Executive Head of Central Learning Partnership Trust.
Since completion this project has been awarded the prestigious title of “Project of the Year” at the Constructing Excellence Awards, West Midlands.
